What Is Included
Material guidance before you commit
An honest comparison of quartz, granite, solid surface, butcher block and laminate against how you actually use the kitchen, not against what carries the best margin. We have no financial interest in which one you choose.
Cabinet support engineering
Different materials need different support. Stone over a dishwasher opening needs a bridge, an unsupported overhang past roughly 10 to 12 inches needs brackets or corbels, and a long island needs a substructure stiff enough that no deflection telegraphs through the seam.
Sink and cooktop planning
Undermount, farmhouse and integrated sinks each change the cabinet build. A farmhouse sink in particular needs a purpose-built base, which has to be decided before the cabinets are made rather than after.

Digital template
The fabricator templates the actual installed cabinetry. Sink and cooktop models need to be on site or fully specified at this point, since the cutouts are made from real dimensions.
Fabrication window
Typically one to two weeks depending on the fabricator's queue. This is the stretch where you have cabinets and no counters, which means no sink.
Install, then reconnect
Tops set and seamed, then the plumber reconnects. We handle the final cabinet adjustments and any trim once the counters are down.

Taking off and disposing of the existing top is a separate line. Tile counters set in mortar bed are considerably more work to remove than laminate.

Can I get countertops without new cabinets?

Quartz or granite?
Quartz is engineered and non-porous, so it needs no sealing and resists staining well, but sustained heat can discolor it. Granite is natural stone, handles heat better, and needs periodic sealing. If you cook heavily and put pans down without thinking, granite is more forgiving. If you want consistency and low maintenance, quartz. With granite, view your actual slab, because no two match.
Why can the template not be done earlier?
Because it is taken from the real installed cabinetry, not from drawings. If cabinets shift even slightly after templating, the top will not fit, and stone cannot be adjusted on site the way a cabinet can. This is why we insist everything is secured first, and it is the most common reason countertops get recut on other people's projects.
How long will I be without a sink?
